Heya,
Just to introduce myself.
I’m Alex. male, 20 yrs, student and in Philippines.
There’s not much classes to find or perhaps too expensive to go for a a tuts in hula – hoop classes so i’m trying it on my own.
I super love your Tuts, cos I’m a beginner and with ur tuts, i’m getting there.
Though i super need your help. I’m trying to create routines yet can’t find any good ( modern ) songs to dance with.
Could you please help out.
Which songs would go well with hula hoop.
Any genre will do.
pls send them to me. as many options as you can.
Thank you soo much.
Hi Angel, I find a lot of my hoop music on http://www.HoopCity.ca . Look for the music note and click on it. There is tons of music shared there for hoopers! Happy hooping!
love the website! had Corazon Richardson at my school for a day to do HoolaHooping and he was on fire! We have been hoopping ever since and will be using your site to learn new tricks! Great work Jody!
Thanks Hool! That’s great that you had someone in to teach hula hooping! Kids just love it… they are attracted to it. If there are any tricks you need a demo on, I could try and video tape it and upload it for your students. That is of course if I can do it myself! lol Take care!
Hi there. I’m sure you would prefer to sell me a hoop as apposed to helping me make my own!! That’s business after all right. If you could, I am having no luck finding irrigation tubing for a hoop. No one seems to carry the proper psi rating I’m looking for( only 75psi), for what I want to make. Do you have a suggestion of where to find it? What tubing do you suggest for a hoop which is mainly for dancing with…exercising with.
I am grateful for your help.
I am happy to help! I even have instructions on the site about how to make your own hula hoop. Yes, there is business, but I’m more interested in introducing hooping to as many people as possible. I currently buy all of my tubing from Home Depot and I can find everything I need there. One place that will bring in tubing if they don’t have what you need is UFA. Canadian Tire typically does not list their tubing the way the other stores do, I tend to avoid it. I have had some success with Rona, but they do not have as much selection. 75 PSI is on the lower side and I do not recommend it if you are using 1/2 tubing unless it is for kids. If you have anymore questions, please do ask. =)
Hi I wanted to know if you were still selling Hula hoops and how someone can order one? I live in Alberta, Canada so I just wanted to know. Thanks
Yes, I still sell hula hoops. I’ve had my store offline since the middle of December, but would still do custom orders for those that are interested. My shop will be fully up again in April. Please let me know if I can help you out at all. I love spreading hoop love. =)
It is sad that you cannot get these types of hula hoops in your country. Perhaps if you tried a country closer than Canada it would be cheaper. The complete total would be $140 Canadian. That is very expensive.
I searched the internet for information about hula hoops in Argentina. I found a small piece of information here. http://www.hooping.org/archives/002393.html Hopefully that will help you more.
I think the last thing you posted was a joke, but it didn’t translate well.
Keep searching for a hoop and good luck!
After checking out the costs, it seems I couldn’t ship it any cheaper than $90.
I imagine that is too expensive. If you are still interested, please let me know.
Hi there! My Spanish is a little rusty so I used an online translator to understand what you were asking (I hope you do the same with my response). I need to find out the cost to send a Hula Hoop to Argentina. I will post back here when I find out the cost. Let’s hope it’s not too pricey. I would love to make you a hoop and send it your way. =)
niki! Hello my fellow hooper! I’m very pleased that you found my site and that you are enjoying it! Please let me know if there is anything I could do to improve it for you!
Fortunately, I have been steadfast at growing the hula hoop scene here in Red Deer so there are a few of us kicking around and we have actually been able to meet up and enjoy hooping with someone.
As for where to get tape in Canada, I have been using http://www.HoopTapeCanada.com with some success. You will enjoy that they do not have to ship over customs so their prices are really fair in that regard. =)
Best of luck to you!
Love your story! I have been to Evolve 3 times and fell in love with hooping there as well. Too cool. I’ve been playing with it between the jigs and reels as we say in Newfoundland, but I’ve been playing more lately and have been discovering new tricks…hence I went on line and found you. I’m thrilled to have found such righteous info and resources, so thanks. Also similar
to your city, there are very few hoopers where I live so I’d love to spread the love of hooping. I’d like a good supplier of tape for my hoop. Do you have any suggestions? I’d prefer to buy Canadian first.
Well hope you have a grateful hooping day.
Cheers sister
It was supposed to say “Sales” not supplies
Thank you so much for your well wishes Lara. =) Maybe some day…. lol
Jode
Make some supplies and get your toosh on Dragons Den
Awesome!
Would you be willing to teach private classes? Say yes!
For sure! Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. =)
Hey Jodie!!! This is amazing, I was going to start a website to gather the tutorials I see online and I found out you had the same idea, however better
Loved the website, congratulations! Cheers from Portugal!
Thank you so much!! It is definitely a labour of love… and I am loving every minute of it! Please let me know if you have any other tutorials that I should include on here. Or moves that I have missed. I am certain I could work on this for a year straight and never have every hoop move listed. Isn’t that the beauty? =)
Thank you again!
Yes, we are very proud of you!
