Hula Hoops For Exercise
Hula hoops are for exercise. Hula hoops get you in shape. Hula hoops get you up and moving.
There are different ways that people get into hula hooping. Some people may have joined a hula hooping class in their community or perhaps a workshop. Others may have come across it at a music festival. Hula hoops are widely used and enjoyed by many.
Most recently, there has been a surge in using hula hoops for exercise. It is quite obvious that the actual motion and aerobic activity would be a great work out. But many people remember the light plastic hula hoops from when they were a child and do not thing that hula hooping is for them.
I can assure you these hula hoops are much different. They are much more rigid and heavier. This makes them easier to keep in the air, by maintaining a slow, steady rhythm. Most people that try a weighted hula hoop for the first time are impressed with how well they actual feel their hoop around their body.
Reports claim that hula hooping burns between 400 and 600 calories an hour. It is a wonderful addition to any work out regime. But as always check with your physician before beginning a new exercise.I am often asked about using hula hoops for exercise and have tossed around how I can best serve the hooping community via free and online resources. I love the world we live in and hate wasting resources, so why would I promote a video or dvd when everything you need is available online? Of course, if you have hula hoop classes near where you leave, I strongly suggest attending, however, if you do not, I have collected some free hula hoop exercise videos for you to watch.
This page is a work in process, so I am slowly building up the videos as I find the time to do it. If you discover a video I do not have posted, but feel it would serve other hoopers well, please send it my way to be added.
Hula Hoop With BodyHoops 10 Minute Workout by hoopcharmed
This is a video that starts off offering some great ideas and advice for the beginner hooper, but quickly progresses to some more difficult off body hooping. You should be able to arm hoop and hoop in your opposite current to complete the hoop workout.
This starts off as a great Beginner Hula Hoop Work Out, however, the quality of the video is not the greatest and it moves into more challenging hooping as the video progresses. It does give you a great idea of what you can do in a hula hoop exercise routine.
The next video is geared towards a person that wants to use a hula hoop as a prop, rather than using it to actually hula hoop. It’s mainly for toning.
